The event was graced by the presence of the company’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Chaminda Prabhath who was the Chief Guest, alongside Deputy Chief Executive Officer Maduranga Heenkenda, DGM and Chief Human Resources Officer Ruwan Fernando, DGM and Chief Risk Officer Mahadevan Suthakar, as well as AGM and Head of Legal Radeeka Tissera, representing the female workforce of the company.
The workshop was conducted from 9:00am to 2:00pm, and prominent speakers were present to discuss important topics specifically relevant to women.
Reputed Trainer and Coach Sherien Perera spoke on the topic of ‘Grooming’, while Professional Beautician and Trainer Ruwanthi Hulangamuwa spoke on ‘Beauty Culture’ with live demonstrations, and Dr. Sathya Udara Sendanayaka, MBBS Registrar – Obstetrics and Gynecology from Castle Street Hospital discussed the topic of Women’s Health.
All female staff members at the event were also given gifts at the end of the workshop, as a token of appreciation for their participation.

For this International Women’s Day, we aim to raise awareness among, and uplift the knowledge and understanding of our internal as well as external female workforce,” noted HNBF Chief Manager and Head of Corporate Marketing and Communications Udara Gunasinghe.
Moreover, HNB FINANCE sponsored and was also an integral part of the Civil Security Department’s International Women’s Day 2023 celebrations, which was held concurrently to the company’s main event.
The celebration, graced by the Civil Security Department’s Chairperson Upendra Kariyawasam, and officers from HNBF was held at the Civil Security Department Headquarters, with over 350 women participating from the organization.
A panel discussion was held with Sri Lanka Police Community Police Division Officer-In-Charge Manoj Samarasekara and Prabha Rajaguru from the Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation, discussing Sri Lankan Women’s Pride, and the Rights of Sri Lankan Women in this day and age, which was followed by a conversational lecture and other activities.
This event aimed to empower and uplift women with general knowledge about the country, its legal system, and other vital information, and HNB FINANCE provided gifts to the women who were present at the event.
