During the Sinhala and Tamil New Year Period, from April 9 to April 14 each highway user was handed a safety leaflet detailing precautionary measures to ensure a safe journey.
The leaflet, designed by the Expressway Operation Maintenance and Management Division detailed general safety guidelines which included the maximum speed allowed on the highway and proper overtaking techniques.
