A valuable addition to the Nephrology Unit, the CRRT machine will be used to manage the continuity of patients’ kidney functions while their kidneys are undergoing surgical intervention, especially in cases of injury or virus attack.
The Nephrology Department of the NSHL is the pioneering division in Nephrology, Dialysis and Kidney Transplant services in Sri Lanka.
The unit provides patients with 24-hour dialysis services, a renal clinic three times a week, round-the-clock Cadaveric Kidney Transplants and weekly live Kidney Transplants.
The unit also extends its services to in-patients and intensive care renal patients at the hospital’s Cardiology unit.
