Businesscafe - With the aim of implementing its highly successful skills development programme for Technical Officers (TOs) across the nation, INSEE Cement Sri Lanka signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the North Central Provincial Council recently.

The MoU was exchanged between H. M. P. Bandara, Chief Secretary of the North Central Province and Jan Kunigk, Executive Vice President – Sales, Marketing & Innovations of INSEE Cement under the patronage of Hon. Maheepala Herath, Governor of the North Central Province.

Present during the landmark event were Provincial Deputy Chief Secretaries, Directors, Chief Engineers, Engineers and Technical Officers


To-date, this is the 6th Province in which INSEE Cement has conducted the TO programme.


In partnership with the North Central Province Chief Secretarial Office, INSEE aims to facilitate training sessions for 200 TOs in the region within a period of six months.


“INSEE Cement is excited to introduce our Skills Development Programme to Technical Officers working in the North Central Province - a region showing enormous potential for infrastructure and urban development,” stated Jan Kunigk Executive Vice President Sales, Marketing & Innovation at INSEE Cement.


“As we move forward it is imperative that we strengthen the foundation of the local industry.


Our responsibility as industry leaders is to ensure all our stakeholders move together in the same direction and contribute towards this accelerated progress and evolution of the local construction industry.”


The skills development programme is designed to enhance local construction industry standards through up-skilling and increasing the knowledge base of these officers in the fields of government procurement, quality control of construction material, types of testing, construction management, safety, cement and concrete usage, as well as green building codes.
