The CQHRM syllabus has been uniquely structured as a composite model with 10 core competencies which are strongly correlated to core behaviors to produce well rounded HRM professionals with the ability to add value to organizations and industry in this new age of business.
The CQHRM framework and Syllabus launch ceremony was held at the Water’s Edge in Battaramulla on Friday 17th July with the participation of Dhammika Fernando-President, CIPM Sri Lanka, Jayantha Amarasinghe-Chairman CQHRM Syllabus Development Committee, U. A. C. Obeysekera-Chief Executive Officer/Director CIPM Business School and Member of CQHRM Syllabus Development Committee, Ken Vijayakumar-Member CQHRM Syllabus Development Committee, co-opted members of the CQHRM Syllabus Development Committee, Council Members of CIPM, members of the faculty and staff of CIPM Sri Lanka and Business School and distinguished members of the HR fraternity.
“We are delighted to launch the syllabus of the Chartered Qualification in HRM programme which is the flagship chartered qualification for human resource professionals in Sri Lanka which incorporates the constructive feedback that we received from the industry and stakeholders on the competencies and skills required of a high performing, well rounded human resource professional.
The starting point of the structure and contents of the CQHRM syllabus was the extensive gap analysis done obtaining input from various stakeholders, CIPM Strategic planning outcome (Vanguard survey), suggestions from members obtained during the Strategic Retreat in 2019, suggestions from faculty members, staff and students – both past and present” said Dhammika Fernando-President CIPM Sri Lanka.
The 10 core competencies that the CQHRM programme develops are HRM and Administrative expertise, Professional credibility, Business acumen, Entrepreneurial expertise, Strategic leadership and navigation, Sustainability focus, Capability development and enhancement, Performance driven, Digital expertise and Change management which are the cornerstones of a successful human resource professional.
“We have also benchmarked the CQHRM programme and its syllabus against highly recognized international professional programmes in HRM to ensure that we cater to the requirements of human resource professionals at an international level” he added thanking the CQHRM Syllabus Development Committee for their extensive effort and professionalism in the development of the syllabus.
“The Chartered Qualification in Human Resource Management will elevate not only the HR fraternity but also the corporate and public sectors which will be able to blend state of the art HR practices with their respective industries to bring lasting value addition to their stakeholders” said Jayantha Amarasinghe-Chairman CQHRM Syllabus Development Committee.
The CQHRM programme which fully conforms to the Sri Lanka Qualification Framework (SLQF) consists of 4 progressive levels.
The entry point starts with the Advanced Certificate in HRM (ACHRM) conforming to the SLQF Level 2 with a duration of 3.5 months which leads to the Diploma in Professional HRM (DPHRM) conforming to SLQF Level 3 with a duration of 11 months.
The next level is the Chartered Intermediate HRM (CIHRM) with a duration of 11 months conforming to SLQF Level 5 leading to the final Chartered Qualification in Human Resource Management (CQHRM) with a duration of 10.5 months (with research) which is pitched at SLQF Level 6.
The full CQHRM programme will take 36 months to complete from start to finish.
The assessment methodology at each level incorporates many practical focused exercises which deviate from the traditional methods of assessment and provides with a standard credit point scheme and grading.
The CHQRM programme is developed inhouse by a panel of experts and will be delivered by Center in the country making it easily accessible for all aspiring HR professionals.
