Kurunegala was chosen as the location for the Vision Care ambulance as the company is committed to deliver quality healthcare in outstation areas where it can impact a large segment of the population.
Earlier this year, the company extended its Kurunegala branch by adding a state-of-the-art Eye and ENT Diagnostic Centre to provide customers with a wider selection of eye and hearing care solutions all under one roof.
Since inception, Vision Care has carried out various initiatives that have served to improve the lives of Sri Lankans islandwide.
Vision Care celebrated its 25 year anniversary in 2017 by officially launching ‘Nethralokana Sathkara’, a pioneering initiative that marked the company's milestone by distributing 25,000 spectacles free-of-charge among deserving people from underprivileged communities from different parts of Sri Lanka.
Currently, the company allocates funds from each pair of spectacles, spectacle lenses and sunglasses that it sells to ‘Nethralokana Sathkara’.
The funds are utilised to carry out a range of projects within the main three focus areas.
Additionally, it also carries out regular free eye health camps in islandwide, especially in underserved communities.
