This marks a country-first partnership for a Sri Lankan School Old Boy's Association.
The special scheme was officially deployed on the 14th October, 2021 at Nawaloka Hospitals, Colombo in the presence of representatives from either party, under stringent health protocols set by the Ministry of Health.
"We are honoured to welcome the OBA and Academic members of Ananda College Colombo as Nawaloka Hospitals corporate members to benefit from a broad portfolio of world-class healthcare facilities and the support of experienced and highly skilled medical consultants and staff.
As gatekeepers of our children, it is vital that academic members across Sri Lanka have convenient access to the healthcare they require to empower themselves as they work hard to bring up a strong, competent young generation of Sri Lankans.
As a premier healthcare provider, this recognition by Ananda College is a clear testament to Nawaloka Hospitals' indelible reputation and ability to innovate and meet the rapidly evolving needs of our people in every sphere of society," remarked Nawaloka Hospitals Chairman Dr. Jayantha Dharmadasa.
Under the scheme, all OBA and academic members will have access to numerous special benefits and free exclusive services at Nawaloka Hospitals branches in Colombo, Negombo, Gampaha and other island wide locations.
This includes discounted rates for surgeries, room reservations, nursing services, diagnostics, OPD appointments, lab investigations, dental services, and health screening packages as well as free ambulance facilities.
Further, members are able to enjoy free access to the hospital's exclusive loyalty program.
"The COVID-19 pandemic went on to further highlight that good health is a paramount necessity that should never be taken for granted at every age.
It is in this spirit, that we join hands with a leading private healthcare provider in Sri Lanka such as Nawaloka Hospitals to better support members of our Old Boys Association as well as our academic staff to continue to operate at their best and healthiest, particularly as it would ultimately create an environment where teachers can flourish and in turn guide a healthier younger generation," stated Bimal Wijayasinghe, Executive President, Ananda College Old Boy's Association.
The partnership was initiated as a project of the membership welfare sub-committee of Ananda College Old Boy's Association.
The launch was also graced by the presence of Deputy Principal, Sarath Gunathilake, representing the Ananda college academic staff together with Prof. Athula Kaluarachchi, Yasas Ariyarathne, Mahesh Ratnayake, Kasun Karunarathna and Gamika Kodagoda as officials representing Old Boy’s Association.
