Ceylinco Life presents hybrid sedan and 500 awards at Annual Awards ceremony

Businesscafe - The crème de la crème among Ceylinco Life’s top sales professionals were recently felicitated with accolades and an automobile at a scintillating annual awards ceremony that also commemorated the Company’s 18th consecutive year of market leadership.

Themed ‘Breakthrough to Excellence,’ the event which returned to the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH), honoured over 300 sales and non-sales staff with more than 500 performance awards.

 

The theme was chosen to emphasise the skill, effort and drive of the Ceylinco Life sales force which has created the momentum to position the Company as the market leader once again, the Company said.

One of the highlights of the event was the presentation of a company-maintained hybrid sedan car to Ms T. Shopana of the Nelliady Branch for her continuous excellence in qualifying for the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) award and High Flyer award which recognises exceptional sales force members in areas such as new business, persistency, and premium collection.


Ceylinco Life has been rewarding its high achievers with automobiles since 2018 when it became the first to do so in the local life insurance market.

Among others honoured were 161 members of the Ceylinco Life sales team who qualified in 2021 for the MDRT, the premier association of financial professionals.


The Company’s Chairman R. Renganathan graced the occasion as Chief Guest.

The top award winners at this year’s annual awards were:


Overall Best Regional Sales Manager Mr S. Venukaran; Overall Best Branch Head Mr V. Baskaran of the Nelliady branch; Overall Best Unit Head Mr R. P. Edirisinghe of the Nugegoda branch; and Overall Best Sales Consultant Mr A. I. P. Manjula of the Ambalantota branch.

Staff members, sales consultants, unit heads and branch heads from the Ceylinco Life head office and more than 270 branches in every district of the country were recognised for their contribution to the company’s performance in 2021, with many top performers winning multiple awards.

Ceylinco Life ended 2021 with assets of Rs 173.7 billion, total income of Rs 40.7 billion, premium income of Rs 25.5 billion, a Life Fund of Rs 119.6 billion and an investment portfolio with a value in excess of Rs 154.4 billion.

Adjudged Sri Lanka’s Service Brand of the Year by the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM) and voted the ‘Most Popular Service Provider’ in Sri Lanka’s Life Insurance industry in 2021, Ceylinco Life has been the country’s leading life insurer for more than half of the 34 years it has been in existence.


The company was ranked the ‘Most Valuable Life Insurance Brand’ in Sri Lanka by Brand Finance also in 2021, during which it was also named one of the 10 Most Admired Companies in Sri Lanka by the International Chamber of Commerce Sri Lanka (ICCSL) in collaboration with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), and was named the ‘Best Life Insurer in Sri Lanka’ for the eighth consecutive year by World Finance.


In 2022, Ceylinco Life was ranked among the 10 Best Workplaces in Sri Lanka’s Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) sector by Great Place to Work® and was voted the most popular life insurance company in Sri Lanka for a record 16th consecutive year at the SLIM Kantar Peoples Awards.
