LinkedIn has re-launched its ‘Bring In Your Parents’ consumer campaign in which businesses invite their employees’ parents into the workplace to foster inter-generational skill sharing.

Virgin Media and restaurant group The Hawksmoor have signed up to the initiative, intended to serve as a thank-you from children to their parents for all the help and guidance they’ve offered over the years.

Launched by Sir Richard Branson in September the campaign is also geared toward fostering greater member engagement with the LinkedIn brand, after persuading 15,000 people to take part last year.

Danielle Restivo, head of global programmes at LinkedIn, said: “At LinkedIn we’re always looking for ways to help our members succeed in their careers. Parental advice and support has an invaluable impact on people’s professional lives, so we wanted to create a moment in time to stop and celebrate that.

“We’re delighted that businesses across the UK will be joining us today to celebrate parental pride. As a campaign it takes us into the heart of British businesses and helps us to connect with our members on a more personal level.”
