Yahoo to live-stream The Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 1 premiere

Yahoo has partnered with film studio Lionsgate to serve as lead digital media partner for the launch of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1; including a live-stream of the title’s global premiere to be broadcast on Yahoo Movies.

As part of the deal the popular franchise will be plugged on a new splash ad format on yahoo Movies digital magazine as viewers log-in to catch stars such as Jennifer Lawrence, Stanley Tucci and Donald Sutherland walk the red carpet at Leicester Square.

Michael Pennington, head of entertainment, Yahoo says: “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 is one of the most anticipated films of this year and we’re thrilled to be such an integral part of the promotion of this phenomenal franchise. We know that Yahoo users love film and now from the comfort of their own homes or on the go via their mobile devices, fans around the world will be able to watch the star-studded event as it happens.”

The live-stream will take place today at 17:30 for broadcast in 14 markets (UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, UAE, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Columbia, Peru, India, Taiwan and Australia), ahead of the film’s release on 20 November.
