Accessible to doctors who register and receive a username and password, http://health.gsk.lk/ is the first dedicated website for healthcare professionals by a pharmaceuticals company in Sri Lanka.
Designed to support doctors in their daily practice by providing information as an aid to treatment, the website provides 24 hour access to information on all GSK products marketed in Sri Lanka, the latest news from the company and other medically relevant information.
Describing the new website as a logical progression in the company’s efforts to share knowledge in a transparent manner with the medical community, Stuart Chapman, Managing Director of GSK Pharmaceuticals in Sri Lanka said:
“This will be another channel for GSK to provide scientific information that can be accessed at the convenience of doctors, and will supplement the webinars GSK conducts periodically for them.”
“Sharing the latest knowledge in our possession with medical practitioners around the world is closely linked with the GSK mission of improving the quality of human life by enabling people to do more, feel better and live longer,” Mr Chapman added.
“Facilitating the medical fraternity’s access to information directly benefits the quality of patient care.”
The dedicated website contains descriptions of GSK’s products with the latest product information leaflets, enables doctors to view recorded webinars and find information about upcoming webinars, to report adverse events, submit requests to be contacted or visited by a company representative, and to subscribe to GSK’s newsletters.
Earlier this year, GSK commenced a series of web seminars or ‘webinars’ to disseminate information to medical professionals on the latest developments in the treatment, management or prevention of diseases.
The live webcasts of medical seminars conducted by global specialists have enabled a larger cross section of the medical community in Sri Lanka to access the vast and ever expanding storehouse of knowledge on key diseases and the latest vaccines.
The Company has to date conducted seven such webinars that were well attended and commended.
The winner of four National Business Excellence Awards (NBEAs) including the Gold in the ‘Healthcare & Related Services’ in 2014 and 2015, GSK and its predecessors have been doing business in Sri Lanka since the late 1930s.
One of the world’s leading research-based pharmaceutical, consumer health and vaccines companies, GSK was the first and is the only multinational company to manufacture pharmaceuticals in Sri Lanka.
