For the first time in Sri Lanka, Homelands Skyline has made its mark by being the first real estate company to move digital.
“To stay on par with the changing marketing environment, we were able to successfully reorganize our resources to create and boost a strong online presence.
Since most people hunt for houses online and are looking for all the information they need with one click; we took the initial risk and invested into digital marketing.
“Chairman and Managing Director of Homelands Group, Mr Nalin Herath said.
The Digital Marketing team was formed under the patronage of Chairman and Managing Director of Homelands Holdings – Mr. Nalin Herath and General Manager - Homelands Holdings – Mrs. Lanka Jayasinghe, and was subsequently taken over by Mr. Keith Madampage – Head of Digital Marketing.
The team worked alongside Mrs. Lanka Jayasinghe and Mrs. Anushi Hettiarachchi – Head of Sales and Marketing Operations who briefed the team in accordance to brand guidelines and marketing strategies that had been implemented in the past.
“Realizing the growing need to create an online presence and being able to predict the influence it will have on awareness and sales, we decided to put together a team of individuals to take us into the next phase.”
Mrs. Lanka Jayasinghe said. “However, although we have shifted our focus from traditional marketing to digital marketing, we continue to invest moderately into all tiers and marketing methods to ensure that we are visible 360o.” she added.
The Digital Marketing team is led by Keith Madampage and comprises of digital marketeers, Thilina Guruge, Anushka Kothalawala, Rumesh Prabath Udayanga; alongside Mariam De La Zilwa – Assistant Manager – Digital Marketing / Corporate Communications.
“Digital Marketing undoubtedly plays a center-stage role in today’s businesses, regardless of its sector,” explained Mr. Keith Madampage.
“By realigning our marketing strategy and resources and launching value additions to our online market, we were able to boost awareness and sales; and by strategizing the use of social media, we created a platform which allows us to reach our target audience while creating a lasting impact,” he continued.
In a span of just one year, Homelands Skyline had made their mark on all online platforms by setting a trend in video based advertising on digital platforms featuring real estate.
They also offer virtual tours to give prospective clients a chance to explore the property through a 360o walkthrough, via their website without even leaving their home.
Homelands Holdings and its development arm, Homelands Skyline’s Facebook page was also recognized as “the real-estate company with the best social media presence in real estate in 2020” and won Bronze in the “Best Corporate Website” category and a Merit for the “Most Mobile Optimized Website” at the BestWeb 2020; just 8 months after revamping the website.
Furthermore, due to the timely move into digital, they were also able to complete 500+ sales of housing and apartments in a single year for the first time in Sri Lanka, despite the COVID – 19 pandemic and the many challenges faced due to it.
