The motorcycle is believed to a rebranded Pulsar 200SS, which has been showcased in other parts of Asia, and is confirmed for a Turkish launch in June.
The ‘RS’ could probably stand for ‘Racing Sports’ or ‘Racing Sport’ and the tagline ‘Fastest Pulsar Yet’ also reaffirms that its 200 cc engine, that is borrowed from the 200 NS, has been uprated.
Other websites speculate that the RS200 would get fuel injection.
Optional ABS is another feature that has been reported widely, for a few months now.
For reference, the 199.5 cc single-cylinder triple-spark liquid-cooled engine on the 200NS delivers 23.52 PS @ 9,000 RPM and 18.3 Nm @ 8,000 rpm.
The fully faired Pulsar is seen getting dual projector headlamps, LED daytime running lights in the front fairing and LED taillamps.
For body colours, Yellow, Blue and Red would be a dual tone pattern with white as the secondary colour, while Black would be a solid shade, spyshots revealed.
Bajaj is yet to announce the start of bookings, but some dealers are taking a deposit, committing to deliveries by end of April.
The Pulsar 200 RS is expected to be priced at about INR 1.35 lakh, and is part of the company’s six-part launch cadence in 2015.
