For Master Janith De Silva, Messrs Anuka Gunawardena and Dinesh Pillai and Mses Rolinka Perera and Anandhie Vilavaraja, responding to on-air quiz programmes on four radio stations was all it took to win this dream package to experience the sights and sounds of hi-octane racing on the Marina Bay Street Circuit.
They were among hundreds of listeners who participated in a promotion for CEAT’s high-riding ‘Milaze’ range of radial tyres on EFM, Lite FM, Yes FM and Kiss FM in July and August this year.
The prizes include Economy Class return air tickets, four days’ accommodation at the four-star Grand Pacific Hotel in Singapore, transfers, Bay Grand Stand tickets and F1 gift hampers worth $ 100 each.
The winners will also have access to concerts by three iconic acts – Maroon 5, Bon Jovi and Pharrell Williams that coincide with the Singapore Grand Prix this year.
The 2015 Formula I Singapore Grand Prix takes place from 18th to 20th September.
“CEAT’s dominance in the radial tyre segment makes our association with motorsport logical and extremely synergistic,” said Ravi Dadlani, Vice President Sales & Marketing at CEAT Kelani Holdings.
“The brand has become synonymous with the local motor racing championship as a result of CEAT’s support to the racing fraternity, while its credentials on the road are borne out by its status as the market leader in the category.”
CEAT is the highest selling radial tyre brand in Sri Lanka, accounting for a market share of 31 per cent.
The brand currently has 31 sizes of radial tyres in the market, with 22 for cars, six for vans and four for sports utility vehicles (SUVs).
In June 2014, CEAT Kelani Holdings expanded its radial tyre manufacturing facilities in Sri Lanka with the commissioning of a new plant at its manufacturing complex in Kelaniya.
The new radial tyre production facility enabled the company to augment its radial tyre building and curing capacity by 70 per cent to 450,000 tyres a year, thereby substituting more than 60 per cent of the country’s imports in this category.
A global tyre brand present in 110 countries and now headquartered in India, CEAT is an acronym that stands for Cavi Electrici Affini Torino, or Electrical Cables & Allied Products of Turin, with origins that date back to 1924 in Italy.
A National Business Excellence Award winner in 2010, 2011, and 2012 and a National Quality Award winner in the ‘Manufacturing – Large’ category in 2013, CEAT - Kelani Holdings is a successful Indo-Sri Lanka joint venture between the RPG Group of India and Kelani Tyre – Sri Lanka.
