SLT-MOBITEL invites public to take part in a special initiative this Vesak to help communities affected by Covid-19

Businesscafe - Rooted in SLT-MOBITEL’s over a decade of history is the common purpose to support and strengthen communities.

Especially during these unprecedented challenging times, helping those in need are vital.


Marking an important season of Vesak this year, SLT-MOBITEL invites the general public to join ‘Daana Paaramitha’, an initiative conceptualized to support the communities affected by the pandemic.

SLT-MOBITEL understands that many families especially from communities in lower income levels are facing financial difficulties and enduring severe hardships, due to the prevailing situation.


The endeavour will provide health equipment, dry rations and relief packs to communities affected by Covid-19.

To support these distressed communities, SLT-MOBITEL has instituted a fund which customers can contribute to as a meritorious deed.


Both Pre-Paid and Post-Paid Mobitel customers can donate Rs. 50 per SMS by simply typing ‘YES’ and sending it to 255.


In return, SLT-MOBITEL will match all public donations and will double the funds collected.


Customers who wish to make a bigger contribution have the option of sending multiple SMS messages from the same number.

SLT-MOBITEL is committed to keeping the nation connected during these challenging times and has implemented numerous national level initiatives to help the affected communities as a result of COVID-19.
