Just after take-off, Stuart sought the help of the Flight Purser and together with the cabin crew team, they looked for a creative way to help Stuart with his proposal. Enlisting the Baradene College Concert Band who happened to be travelling on the flight, Emirates’ crew transformed the Onboard Lounge into the perfect setting for that special moment. With an impromptu serenade of Louis Armstrong’s ‘What a Wonderful World’ sung by a talented cabin crew member, Stuart popped the question and received a resounding ‘yes’ much to his and his fellow travellers’ delight.
“It was always going to be a truly special moment in my life but what happened took it to a level I could never have imagined. There could have been no better setting anywhere in the world. The nerves I had were put at ease with the fantastic crew members, the Captain and all the passengers,” said Mr. Mackinnon.
Emirates’ A380 Onboard Lounge is all about creating memorable experiences and inspiring people to make new connections and journeys. Emirates currently has 50 A380s in service and more than 23 million passengers have travelled on the iconic aircraft since it first launched in 2008. The two decks of the Emirates A380 offer spacious seats in Economy Class, lie-flat seats in Business Class and luxury First Class Private Suites. Passengers in the premium cabins can socialise in the Onboard Lounge and First Class passengers can arrive at their destination feeling refreshed in one of two onboard Shower Spas.
