“The Sri Lankan Police Force has been a source of strength for all citizens during the pandemic through their tireless efforts to set order to chaos and mitigate the growing impact of COVID-19.
As a responsible corporate citizen, we recognise and appreciate the role they play to support communities and businesses, vaccination drives, and quarantine centers at this difficult time in history.
This donation of Watawala Tea, which is Sri Lanka’s leading tea brand, is therefore a token of our deep appreciation of their hard work hard being carried out throughout this tough period,” said Sunshine Holdings Group Managing Director Vish Govindasamy.
“From the beginning of the lockdown, Sunshine Holdings has been playing an active role in assisting the government in their effort to curb the spread of COVID-19 through its subsidiaries and Sunshine Foundation for Good, the Group’s CSR arm.
As Sri Lanka’s number one branded Tea Company, Sunshine Consumer Lanka contributed immensely for the society by donating Watawala Tea for the consumption of individuals and staff placed in Quarantine Centres and island-wide hospitals.
Additionally, we assisted the needy in deep rural areas across the nation as well as members of the tri forces,” said Sunshine Consumer Lanka Chief Executive Officer Surith Perera.
