Suwa Diviya successfully concludes She Thrives women s online health forum

Businesscafe - Suwa Diviya successfully concluded its International Women's Day online health forum, 'She Thrives', which drew an impressive turnout of women participating over Zoom.

This event affirmed Suwa Diviya's steadfast commitment to championing women's health and well-being, solidifying its position as a beacon of support for women across Sri Lanka.

At the heart of ‘She Thrives’ lies Suwa Diviya's unwavering mission to guide, educate and empower those with diabetes and to prevent diabetes.

At the same time, Suwa Diviya highlighted issues that women with diabetes face and how women can be empowered to change the health of their families too.

Furthermore, ‘She Thrives’ also provided valuable information on prevalent health issues such as diabetes, breast and ovarian cancer, kidney health, and the significance of nutrition and physical activity.

Moderated by Consultant Physician and Suwa Diviya Founder Dr. Kayathri Periasamy, the event featured an esteemed panel of lady doctors, including Prof. Chandrika Wijeyaratne, consultant physician and an expert in women’s health; Dr. Sakuntala Seneviratne, consultant gynaecologist; Dr. Renuka Jayatissa, consultant nutritionist; Dr. Dilukshi Pilapitiya, consultant nephrologist and Nilakshi Kasilingam, senior physiotherapist.

Their collective expertise and insightful contributions resonated deeply with participants, who found their guidance invaluable in navigating various aspects of women's health.

Reflecting on the success of this forum, Dr. Kayathri Periasamy shared her thoughts, stating,

"At Suwa Diviya, we believe in empowering women to take control of their health journey.

'She Thrives' was a testament to this belief, bringing together women from diverse backgrounds to prioritize their well-being and gain valuable insights into maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

We are delighted by the positive response and look forward to continuing our efforts to support women's health in Sri Lanka."

The discussions during the forum brought enthusiastic feedback from attendees, with many expressing gratitude for the informative sessions and a desire for similar future programs.

During 'She Thrives', an insightful analogy likened the importance of maintaining one's health to caring for a vehicle.

Just as regular check-ups and maintenance are crucial for a vehicle's longevity and optimal performance, prioritizing regular health screenings, check-ups, and consistent health management is equally vital for our well-being.

This analogy resonated deeply with participants, highlighting the imperative nature of proactive health care.

It served as a poignant reminder to prioritize self-care and to view regular health maintenance as a fundamental aspect of leading a fulfilling life.

In addition to discussions on health maintenance, ‘She Thrives’ also provided practical resources to support women in their journey towards better health.

Attendees were educated on a one-pot recipe tailored for busy women, offering a convenient and nutritious meal solution amidst hectic schedules.

Additionally, tips for a balanced diet were shared, empowering women to make informed choices about their nutrition and overall dietary habits.

Suwa Diviya extends heartfelt gratitude to all the doctors who graciously dedicated their time and expertise to benefit women through the online forum.

Their invaluable contributions are making a meaningful impact on the lives of women in our community.
