MDS Crew creates innovative, trend forward choreography with a multi-talented home grown crew that brings out an international dance experience with the exact amount of Sri Lankan identity and local flair.
Since its inception in 2010, the troupe has regularly performed at the country’s biggest corporate events, exclusive weddings, state-of-the-art dance concerts, mega television productions, conceptualized product launches and brand related events, TV commercials as well as in the film industry.
As a multi-styled dance group MDS Crew performs fusion, cultural, traditional, classical, contemporary, Indian/Bollywood, Latin American, Afro, Tribal, Jazz, Broadway, fire dance and other conceptual creations.
It has successfully performed in several countries across the globe including India, Maldives, Dubai, Malaysia, France, Italy, and Austria.
Founder/Director Muddrika Swarnathilake started her dance journey as a Sri Lankan traditional Kandyan dancer at the age of 6 and constantly kept seeking to learn new, different styles of dance forms as she pursued her dream to become a highly-qualified professional choreographer.
Such passion led to her gaining industry knowledge from leading institutes such as the Asian Academy of Film and Television in India and the New York Film Academy, USA and she commenced her career as a professional choreographer in the year 2007.
During the course of her 16 years in the industry, Muddrika has choreographed countless dance performances, opening acts and conceptualized special performances to elevate grand events, brands, celebrity performances, concerts and many other such special occasions to international standards.
Her expertise has been duly recognized and as a result, she has been on many dance and performing arts-based television reality shows as a judge.
Sharing her thoughts on her journey in the entertainment industry, Muddrika Swarnathilake commented,
