Couple aged 103 and 91 to become world’s oldest newly-weds

A 91-year-old woman and her 103-year-old boyfriend will become two of the world’s oldest newly-weds when they marry in June.

Doreen Luckie is set to marry George Kirby – who is now 102 but will turn 103 on the day of the wedding – after 27 years together.

And the couple will have a combined age of 194 when they tie the knot on 13 June, making them two of the world’s oldest newly-married couples.

The excited bride-to-be said she’s looking for a dress that isn’t ‘too glamorous… just plain and simple.’

Ms. Luckie said that she was surprised to learn she and her husband could be potential record-breakers.

The couple will marry at the Langham Hotel, where they live in Eastbourne, East Sussex.

The hotel is owned by Mr. Kirby’s son Neil, who says that Ms. Luckie is ‘like a mother’ to him.
