This was the second time Singer Sri Lanka offered its staff an exciting opportunity to showcase their talents ranging from singing and dancing to playing instruments, encouraging staff across all business units to participate.
Singer management realized the company harbored a wide range of gifted performers among its staff members and the Singer Talent Show was conceived to recognise employee talents, boost employee engagement and encourage a work life balance.

Selection for Season 02 contestants began in June with the 1st round taking place at the Singer (Sri Lanka) Management office where employees showcased their talents; singing solos, duets and in groups and playing instruments.
60 Singer employees representing subsidiaries - Singer Sri Lanka, Singer Finance, Singer Sri Lanka Factory and Regnis Lanka PLC participated in true company spirit.
The judges nominated 25 singing soloists, six duet performers, three singing groups and two employees performing an instrument to proceed to Round Two.
The exciting Second Round was also held at Singer (Sri Lanka) Management office in August with 12 singers, four singing duets, two singing groups and two instrument items chosen for the grand finale.
The grand finals of ‘Singer Got Talent Season 02’ took place in October at the prestigious Tower Hall Theatre in Colombo.
Singer senior management and hundreds of employees cheered and applauded the scintillating performances of their coworkers.
Asoka Pieris, Chief Executive Officer, Singer Group, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
Months of preparation and hard work paid off as the winners of ‘Singer Got Talent Season 02’ were announced.
The evening’s outstanding performer, Nishantha De Silva received the grand prize as the Winner for Solo Singing.
Nelum De Alwis was placed 1st Runner Up and Joint 2nd place winners were Shafraz Saldin and Lakshika Gamage.
Season 02 Winner, a delighted Nishantha De Silva said, “It was a fantastic opportunity that our company provided to showcase our talents from our daily work in office and be judged by industry veterans.”
Ruchira De Silva, the Winner of Season 01 reminiscing last year’s excitement said, “This is more than a competition, it was a new experience to everyone who participated, we even made a music video with all contestants and it was so exciting.”
Five concessionary prizes were also presented to Mandakini Samarasinghe, Jagath Weerasinghe, Upeksha Ravihari, Nandun Wickramasinghe and Nimesh Perea for their impressive solo performances.
Sumudu Dinesh Palihakkara and Geeshani Palihakkara were adjudged winners of the Duet Singing category for their outstanding rendition.
Jeewan Kalinga and Umesha Maduwanthi was placed 1st Runner Up while Shafraz Saldin and Nishantha De Silva awarded the 2nd Runner Up in the same category.
Winning the prize for the best Duet singing, husband and wife Sumudu and Geeshani said, “It was a great opportunity that Singer provided; me and my wife both work in the finance division where the work can be challenging.
It was exciting and relaxing where we could show our talents in a different field that we both enjoy immensely.”
Winning the prize for Group Singing were Nishantha De Silva, Shafraz Saldin, Lakshika Gamage and Upeksha Ravihari.
The Winner of the Instrument Category was Iranga Wickramaarachchi.
