The new brand name Akira engages in the design and manufacturing stages of all their clothing ranges which encompasses a casual and corporate wear.
Akira was founded by brothers Akila and Ravinath Sannasgala and the first two syllables of their names helped form the name AKIRA.
Commenting on the opening of the new showroom, Akira, Managing Director, Ravinath Sannasgala said, “After realizing the expanse of imported clothing that arrives into Sri Lanka and which tends to show signs of low quality as well as the huge gap in wearable and unique designer clothes available around, Akira stumbled on the aspiration of bringing in and emphasizing fashionable entities such as the trendy lungi kit and handloom designs where people can choose from a wide range of designs to wear for any occasion.”
Akira creations are set to be available at reasonable prices and the showroom itself will resonate an air of serenity within an inimitable concept.
The venue also holds ample parking where shoppers can achieve peace of mind and relax in the simple but exquisite glory of the showroom’s contents.
The range will include kurtha tops and blouses for working women, lungi kits for women who love and enjoy wearing traditional designs, skirts and much more.
The collections are available in shapely sizes.
The menswear shirts will include clothes incorporating material such as handloom, linen and batiks.
The brand has been present in the Sri Lankan market for over ten years and has been supplying a well refined collection of manufactured designs and limited edition clothing products to almost every leading retail outlet in Sri Lanka.
What Akira aims to achieve is to give people the opportunity to purchase attire that has not been seen in the market before and to look different.
In the pipeline, Akira aims to produce clothing that will also cater to older women who specifically seek elegant and graceful styles and also produce printed designs for the younger generation.
The material that has been integrated into this genesis are woven at the company’s own garment factories in accordance with strict quality standards using the finest material imported from credible global suppliers.
All the collections are manufactured using durable and uncommon handloom materials, raw silk, Indian cotton, viscose and lace.
Describing Akira synonymously, the word means brightness, intelligent or clear in Japanese.
Similarly in Sanskrit, women are named AKIRA, meaning graceful strength.
When beauty meets intelligence, elegance meets determination and grace meets strength women slowly start to conquer the world.
The way you dress tells a lot about you.
Let it be a girl with an artistic passion, a corporate woman stepping towards achievements, a teenager with aspiring dreams and a lady with class, Akira has the best outfit to portray you to the world.
