Focusing on four important segments of healthcare: Women’s Wellness, Men’s Wellness, Health Education and Non-Communicable Diseases, the Wellness Center will provide a range of primary healthcare services such as a systematic check for diseases as well as counselling, clinics for NCD’s as well as programmes for smoking and alcohol cessation.
Offering a wide range of services, the Hemas Hospital Wellness Center will focus on management of medical conditions like diabetes and hypertension in order to ensure patients work towards a healthier lifestyle.
“Non - communicable diseases such as diabetes are the leading cause of death with an estimated 425 million affected globally and account for approximately 75% of deaths in Sri Lanka.

Diabetes is one of the most prevalent NCDs in Sri Lanka, with 1 in 12 adults suffering from the disease.
While a genetic pre-disposition to diabetes is a major factor, ultimately, diabetes is a condition that mainly arises through an unhealthy lifestyle.
The good news is that careful management of diet, weight and regular exercise can prevent – and in cases of early diagnosis can even reverse – the condition, ensuring enjoy a better quality of life.

The new Hemas Hospital Wellness Center is therefore primarily focused on preventive care and integrated management of diseases and medical conditions - from diagnostics and comprehensive testing to directing patients to the relevant specialists after diagnosis.
Employing a multi-disciplinary approach, well trained medical officers will lay out a treatment plan and guide patients through the treatment process and ensure medical conditions are managed, in the case of non-communicable diseases, through constant follow ups.
Equipped with a stated of the art data base, patients will be monitored constantly with the Wellness Center going the extra mile to ensure patients follow through with appointments and checkups through reminders over the phone and SMS messages.
