New Hero Xtreme Sports Launched With Visual And Performance Upgrades ( Video )

Hero Motocorp. has unveiled another new bike this month (having already unveiled the new Passion Pro earlier this month)- a new Xtreme Sports which is more powerful and sportier than its predecessor.

The new motorcycle is powered by a 150 cc motor, same as the older one.

However, Hero claims that it has been modified for more power and now offers the highest power output in its class.

The engine is a 149.2cc air-cooled, four-stroke single cylinder that is tuned to deliver a maximum power output of 15.6 bhp @ 8500 rpm and maximum torque of 13.5 Nm @ 7000 rpm.

The 0-60 km/h, is a claimed 4.7 seconds.

The bump in power was achieved by amping up the compression ratio from 9.1:1 to 10:1.

The 240 mm front and optional 220 mm rear disc brakes provides adequate stopping power.

Visual changes to the bike include front cowl with an aerodynamic visor, new wolf-eye headlamps and twin LED pilot lamps and winkers.

Split seats have also been introduced to offer a fresh look while improving comfort for both rider and pillion.

The exhaust has also been revised and the muffler cover aids in heat shielding.

Grab rails, almost identical to the one seen on the new Karizma has been fitted and the LED tail light features a new, sharp design.

The instrument console has also been modified to feature an analogue tachometer and digital speedometer and fuel gauge.

Tires are now tubeless and the rear tyre is of a new, wider make than the old Hero Xtreme Sports.

Five colour options are available for the new 150 cc Hero: Panther Black, Fiery Red, Mercuric Silver and the new Black-Red and Pyro Orange colours.

The bike is now available at showrooms nationwide and has been priced as follows: Rs. 72,725 (ex-showroom Delhi), Rs. 73,194 (ex-showroom Mumbai), Rs. 71,515 (ex-showroom Chennai) Rs. 73,902 (ex-showroom Kolkata) and Rs. 71,729 (ex-showroom Bangalore).
