Cargolux begins Turkmenbashi service ( Video )

All-cargo carrier Cargolux Airlines has begun four-times-per-week service to Turkmenbashi Airport (KRW) in Turkmenistan.

On a June 29 demonstration flight, the first Cargoux 747 freighter flew from Luxembourg to KRW on its way to Baku, Azerbaijan.

Starting June 30, Cargolux began flying four weekly regular cargo flights through KRW: On Mondays it flies a Hong Kong-KRW-Budapest route; on Tuesdays and Saturdays, Luxembourg-KRW-Taipei; and on Wednesdays, Hong Kong-KRW-Vienna.

Turkmenbashi is now Cargolux’s fifth destination in Central Asia, along with Baku, Novosibirsk, Almaty and Tbilisi.

Turkmenistan Airlines is now aligned to cooperate with Cargolux’s worldwide network of 90 destinations.

At the same time, Cargolux can now better serve surrounding Central Asian markets, such as Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.

Turkmenbashi, in service since 2010, offers state-of-the-art infrastructure and is centrally located at a major crossroads for travel between Europe and the rest of Asia.
