SLT MOBITEL Expands Green Energy Footprint

Businesscafe - As part of its commitment to progressively reduce carbon footprints through impactful sustainable measures, SLT-MOBITEL, the National ICT Solutions Provider, announced it has further expanded its solar-powered base stations under its Co-Connection Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategic approach.

With a strong focus on ESG, SLT-MOBITEL laid the foundation for the first solar-powered base station in 2018.

As a responsible corporate, green energy is a top agenda item at SLT-MOBITEL and part of its commitment to integrating ESG best practices into its business model, ensuring business success does not come at the expense of the planet and the people it supports.

Under phase 1, SLT-MOBITEL Mobile has already completed a number of projects covering key areas of the country and is set to boost over 1000 impressive sites in the near future.

SLT-MOBITEL understands the importance of advancing in the green transition for the betterment of the planet and its people.

As such, SLT-MOBITEL remains committed to implementing effective green initiatives that are impactful and contribute to local and international sustainability goals by reducing carbon footprints through various green interventions.

SLT-MOBITEL has also taken the baton and set up solar-powered base stations at prominent tourism destinations and isolated rural communities to connect without causing harm to the environment.

This approach has further bolstered its hybrid battery systems installed for sites in heavy terrain where full-time generators are operated, helping to reduce the generator running time and fuel consumption to decrease the carbon footprint of the company.

Protecting the planet by reducing the business’s environmental impact, SLT-MOBITEL also engages in other environment-friendly initiatives such as e-waste management, solar-powered work premises, Green Energy Certified buildings, and many more.
