Organised by the Sports Branch of the Ministry of Education, the annual Games this year saw young athletes from over 4,800 schools islandwide, competing under the age groups of 14, 16, 18 and 20 years.
The event was graced by Minister of Education Dr. Susil Premajayantha.
Keeping true to its promise of going an extra mile to make an impact in people’s lives, Prima provided its much-loved noodles free to over 6,000 student athletes that participated in the five-day event.
The Games not only brings much-needed recognition within Sri Lanka, but also encourages and supports to represent the country at major international competitions such as Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games, Asian Games and South Asian Games.
This year drew special attention as the event rewarded Tharushi Karunaratne, 800m Gold Medalist, and Jayeshi Uththara, 4*400m Bronze Medalist, both of whom brought immense glory to the Island Nation at the recently concluded Asian Games.
With a drive to recognize and empower fresh talent from all corners of the country, Prima has extended its support to push forward national efforts of producing excellent sportsmen and sportswomen since 2010.
