Fashion Bug Partners with Sri Lanka Railways for Station Upgrades

Businesscafe - Fashion Bug, Sri Lanka's beloved fashion brand, has recently reinforced its dedication to corporate social responsibility (CSR) through its ongoing efforts to revitalise the iconic Fort Railway Station, a commitment it has upheld since 2013 to enhance the station's functionality.

A focused aspect of the recent restoration was the installation of updated signage, including clearer timetables, platform numbers, and direction boards, all streamlined to simplify navigation for the thousands of daily commuters.

Reflecting on the initiative, Mr Shabier Subian, Director of Fashion Bug, remarked:

"Our commitment to this project began in 2013, and it has been a privilege to contribute to its enhancement once again this year.

CSR lies at the heart of our values, and we are especially proud to align our efforts with the government’s vision for the Clean Sri Lanka initiative."

The handing-over ceremony for the latest phase of station renovations was attended by key representatives from Fashion Bug and Sri Lanka Railways, including Mr V. S. Polwattage, AGM Operations; Mr W. S. Chandana, Deputy Superintendent (Sales and Marketing); Mr S. M. L. Siriwardane, Station Master Superintendent of Colombo Fort; and Mr B. S. P. Mendis, Station Master of Colombo Fort.

Over the years, Fashion Bug has been actively engaged in numerous CSR initiatives, including the refurbishment of hospital wards in the capital.

These efforts have been further enhanced by the company’s ongoing involvement in projects like the installation of updated signage at the Colombo Fort Railway Station.
